Midget 2016 Spring Training Camp Mesa, Arizona
JUST RELEASED:
“The Big League Experience will be holding its 2nd Annual ‘Spring Training Camp” and Tournament for MIDGET players once again in Mesa, Arizona. Last year’s camp was outstanding as 4 teams (West Kelowna, Kamloops, Ridge Meadows and Team BLE had the opportunity to hone up their skills prior to the season in the valley of the sun during spring break and Major League Baseball’s Spring Training camps. Each team had the opportunity to work on the field as a group and as an individual under their team coaches as well as former big League players, coaches and scouts that took part in all workouts. The trip also included the opportunity to take part in MLB Spring Training games a campus visit to the Arizona State University as well as play in a tournament amongst the 4 teams.
This year’s addition will now be upgraded as we will be extending the camp by a couple days and include a weekend tournament. This year’s date is from March 21 – 26 and is open for teams to register along with individuals who are looking for that Big League Experience in baseball heaven – Arizona.
*Please note that those players can sign up as an individual and be placed on a BLE team for the week and be coached by the BLE staff coaches.

Date: March 21 – 26 (Monday – Saturday)
Where: Mesa, Arizona
Objective: Training camp/games for 18U aged players over 6 days in the Valley of the sun starting Monday, March 21 and ending Saturday, March 26. The camp will give the opportunity for each individual player and team to work on positional skill development, Hitting and team play with their coaches and former MLB coaches, scouts and players over the 6 days. Individuals will also have the opportunity to practice and play games with their club team or Team BLE during the week in their preparation for the 2016 season. This program will be limited to 6 complete teams.
Overview and what is included:
Players will either participate with Team BLE or their respective clubs.
5 night’s accommodations at Arizona Golf resort (Breakfast included in price)
Game ticket for MLB spring training game(s)
Campus visit
All costs associated with fields, games, umpires and special guests

– Marty Lehn – Former Canadian Olympic team coach, MLB scout and Big League Experience Camps
– Bob Didier – 5 time World Series champion with Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees and former MLB catcher
– Albie Lopez – 12 year MLB pitcher and World Series Champion with Arizona D-Backs
– Tim Unroe – Former MLB outfielder and corner infielder with Milwaukee Brewers (Guest coach)
– Kyle Dhanani – Former Professional player in the Milwaukee Brewers organization and coach at Thompson Rivers University
– As well the Coaches of Midget teams
In Conclusion:
Each team and individual will have:
– Three team practices
– Two specialty sessions
– Two pre – tournament games and 3 to 4 tournament games
– One indoor workouts at Extra Innings Batting cages
Free time will include:
– 2 evenings and 2 afternoons to take in MLB game(s), campus visits or free time.
Please Note:
**Airfare, Hotels (hotel bill and hotel to park transportation for team BLE will be built into their cost), meals and Transportation when in Arizona will have to be provided by either the individual or club Teams.
**Tournament play will start on Thursday and all attempts will be made to invite non event teams to participate in the tournament and hopefully some US competition.
