Big League Experience Camper Morgan Loftstrom drafted by the Cincinnati Reds
Big League Experience
A major impact on the 2013 MLB DRAFT
In the 20th round the Cincinnati Reds select catcher Morgan Lofstrom out of Kelowna, British Columbia. Scouting Report: Morgan is a sturdy defensively sound catcher that hits from the left side with the potential to produce future offensive power and be a solid defender behind the dish. With every outing and over the past couple of years Morgan has raised some eyebrows with his ability to improve. He was a member of the 2012 BCPBL Champion Okanagan A’s (coached by Evan Bailey – former draft pick of the Anaheim Angels) and is a team leader with this year’s club.
Morgan a long time Big League Experience Camp member, has also been a member of Team BC and represented BC in the Canada cup as well received the honor this past spring to be part of Team Canada. Morgan peaked the interest of our Canadian National team coach Greg Hamilton so much during the spring that he was invited to be part of the club and represent Canada in this year’s World Championships being held in Taichung, Taiwan. Morgan has signed a letter of Intent to play at San Jacinto Junior College in Texas, but it looks like he’s off to start his professional baseball career.
Congratulations to Morgan and his family (Dave, Donna and brother Trevor) and best of luck to you in your next baseball chapter to becoming a big leaguer
